A man who misused the 911 emergency system for half a year was granted probation Monday.
Robert Kenneth Schwoerer, 33, called Douglas County Sheriff’s emergency dispatch multiple times between Aug. 21, 2023, and February seeking welfare checks on his child who, according to court documents, resides with the mother away from Schwoerer, when no emergency existed.
“He has so much control over me and he should be held accountable for his actions,” said the mother during a victim impact statement.
Schwoerer was sentenced to a suspended 364 days in Douglas County Jail which is to run consecutive with cases pending in East Fork Justice Court.
Schwoerer was ordered to have no contact with the mother and the child unless the custody order is followed. He was ordered to remain on GPS monitoring and continue outpatient treatment.
• A man arrested for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of methamphetamine was granted probation Monday.
Gerard Matthew Luisi, 49, was arrested June 27 on Glenbrook Road in Lake Tahoe.
Luisi was sentenced to a suspended 12-36 months for possession of a firearm and 12-30 months for possession of methamphetamine. His sentences will be served simultaneously. He was given credit for 110 days in jail.
He is required to complete Western Nevada Regional Drug Court as a condition of his probation.
• A man who failed to appear in Douglas County District Court on four occasions since May 6 was returned Monday.
Christopher Andrew Ferguson, 44, was originally arrested for selling marijuana to minors.
Due to his failures to appear, the State does not have to follow a plea agreement and can argue for any lawful sentence, which is scheduled for Oct. 21.
A man arrested with Molly and Ecstacy was granted diversion Monday.
Kyudai Dion Nielson-Morton, 34, was arrested on Feb. 18.
Nielson-Morton was ordered to complete Western Nevada Regional Drug Court. If he fails, he faces up to 1-4 years in prison.
