Carson High girls soccer was able to punch its ticket to the Class 4A North postseason Tuesday with a 6-2 win over Douglas.

The Senators will be locked in as the No. 4 seed out of the Sierra League and will open the regional playoffs against the No. 1 seed from the High Desert League, McQueen.

“We definitely see progress from our first game (of the season) and that’s all we wanted,” said senior captain Elayna Quintero.

In Tuesday’s win, Carillo had a hat trick, scoring once in the first half and twice in the second half.

In the 23rd minute, Carillo went to her left foot at the top of the box and tallied her first goal off the right post.

In the 62nd minute she turned a free kick into a goal before charging down the field 14 minutes later to net her third.

“I kind of was just pushing myself. It was senior night and I just wanted to give it my all,” said Carillo.

Ashley Orozco scored twice for Carson, tallying the first goal of the game in the second minute off a pass from Elayna Quintero.

Orozco put in her second goal in the 63rd minute.
