On 7/18/2024, the Douglas County Board of
Commissioners INTRODUCED the following
ordinance:
ORDINANCE: 2024-1640
TITLE: Ordinance No. 2024-1640, an
ordinance amending Douglas County
Code Title 5 – Business Licenses and
Regulations, Chapter 5.36 – Adult
Characterized Businesses to: 1) amend
Section 5.36.010 – Definitions, Subsection
H – Adult Revue, to clarify that an “adult
revue,” as defined under Douglas County
Code, must be “owned, managed, or
controlled by an unlimited gaming
licensee” and must occur “within an
established and designated showroom or
showrooms owned, managed, or controlled
by an unlimited gaming licensee”; 2) add
Section 5.36.160 – Injunctive Relief, to
clarify that any violation of Chapter 5.36 is
subject to a civil action by Douglas County
for preliminary and permanent injunctive
relief to enjoin the violation; and 3) provide
for all other properly related matters.
SUMMARY: Ordinance 2024-1640 amends
the Douglas County Adult Characterized
Businesses Code, Chapter 5.36, to clarify
that: 1) an “adult revue” as defined under
Douglas County Code must be “owned,
managed, or controlled by an unlimited
gaming licensee” and must occur “within
an established and designated showroom
or showrooms owned, managed, or
controlled by an unlimited gaming
licensee” and 2) any violation of Chapter
5.36 is subject to a civil action by Douglas
County for preliminary and permanent
injunctive relief.
The 2nd Reading of this Ordinance will be
held on 11/17/2024. A copy of this ordinance is
on file in the Clerk’s Office for public review.
