Genoa, Nev. — As of this morning, 1,614 voters have cast their ballots with 935 of those voting on Monday. Polls are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the community center for in-person voting.

The roving ballot box is at the TRE Community Center 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at the Fish Springs Fire Station 3-6 p.m. Voters may also drop off their ballots 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Douglas County Courthouse in Minden or pop them in the mail.

A semi truck flipped over on Highway 395 in Walker Canyon blocking the northbound lane around 3:40 a.m. today, according to the California Highway Patrol. The driver said he wasn’t injured. Silver State is down there and will help clear the wreck.

Pulse Point indicates that East Fork responded to a collision on Carlen Road just north of Holbrook Junction around 9:40 p.m. Monday. I don’t have any other details this morning.

Library Director Tim DeGelder will be providing his quarterly update on his goals and achievements to the Douglas County Library Board of Trustees 10 a.m. today at the Minden Branch, 1625 Library Lane.

Douglas County Emergency Manager Kara Easton is the guest speaker noon today at the Good Governance Group meeting in Minden’s COD Casino. Cost $5 includes beverage. Information, 775-265-0267.

It was fairly breezy on Monday morning with Fish Springs recording a 30 mph blast before lunch and sustained 20 mph winds through the afternoon.

Today, the forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high near 75 degrees. The wind will shift to the west early at 5-10 mph, calming down this evening.
