Update:
On Wednesday, Douglas County reported that the Trump 47 Committee Inc. has officially announced that it will be withdrawing its application for a permit to host a campaign rally at Minden-Tahoe Airport.
“After careful consideration, the applicant has determined that they cannot coordinate an event in Douglas County at this time,” according to the county.
At their Oct. 17 meeting, the Douglas County commissioners voted unanimously to approve — with certain conditions — the Trump 47 Committee’s application for the "Remarks from Minden Nevada" event, planned for Nov. 2–4.

Update: Douglas County commissioners voted Thursday to approve an outdoor festival permit sought by the Trump 47 Committee for the weekend before the Nov. 5 General Election.
Called the Remarks from Minden Nevada, the event application on Douglas County commissioners’ Thursday agenda indicates only that it “will be a rally style event featuring special guest speakers,” and will draw more than 10,000 people.
The event would close the airport for that weekend, especially if one of those guest speakers was former President Trump.
The former President was in Reno on Friday talking to a capacity crowd at the Grand Sierra Resort, according to various news reports.
Trump has been to Minden-Tahoe Airport twice over the last few years, holding a pre-campaign rally Sept. 12, 2020, and again on Oct. 8, 2022.
In 2020, the campaign switched to Minden after being refused a venue in Reno due to the coronavirus outbreak.
