Genoa, Nev. — The Water Conveyance Advisory Committee took no action on the county’s request for approval of Muller Lane Parkway after property owner David Park raised questions at Tuesday’s meeting. A hearing on an injunction sought by the Parks to stop construction is next week.


What sounded like a controlled burn that got out of hand around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday near the base of Kingsbury Grade was extinguished by East Fork firefighters.


Fire restrictions on BLM, BIA and NDF government lands are set to expire just after midnight tonight in 11 Western Nevada counties. The Minden Inn is dressed as the Overlook Hotel for Halloween. I likely wouldn’t have noticed had the elevator been working, which I guess is probably the lead for this item.


Douglas County employees are doing a food drive and are collecting goods at the Minden Inn’s lobby through Nov. 1, which is Friday.
