Genoa, Nev. — A power outage affected 4,400 NVEnergy customers from 4:45-6:15 p.m., according to a power company spokeswoman. No report this morning on what caused it.

A two-day red flag warning goes into effect 11 a.m. today through 8 p.m. Wednesday. NV Energy has issued a safety outage from noon Wednesday through 9 a.m. Thursday for Genoa and Glenbrook.

Planning commissioners meet 1 p.m. today to discuss the 5G tower request behind Station 14 in Minden. The town board denied it back in August. I’m expecting a fairly contentious meeting.

The elevator is still out at the Courthouse, so those folks who can’t navigate the steep stairs will have the option of providing public comment online. You can sign in at virtual comment. People will be muted until public comment opens.

School board trustees will discuss hiring someone to evaluate the “current school boundaries and enrollment patterns to inform decisions about potential school closures,” according to their agenda. The board meets 4 p.m. at their Airport Training Center off Airport Road.

East Fork Swimming Pool District Director Shannon Harris is the speaker noon today at the Good Governance Group meeting at COD Casino in Minden. Cost, $5 includes beverage.

I’ll update the Davis Fire story elsewhere, but it appeared to burn through the night on the Calaveras Alert Wildfire camera. We had a second day of of a fairly impressive plume on Monday.

There’s nothing in the forecast to indicate anything different today or Wednesday. The southwest wind will pick up to 10-15 mph this afternoon and keep blowing after midnight. The high is predicted to be 88 degrees.
