A man who sold methamphetamine was sentenced Monday to eight years in prison.
James Steven Molina, 53, was part of an April 2 drug sting where he was arrested for supplying a controlled substance and high level possession.
Molina was in possession of approximately 58 grams of methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Molina has at least 10 prior convictions dealing with high level possession and supplying a controlled substance.
Douglas County District Court Thomas Gregory said it was the repetitive sales of controlled substances throughout his criminal history that influenced the order.
Molina was sentenced to 2-5 years on one count and 2-8 years in the second count, which are to run concurrent. He was given credit for five days.
• A man who allegedly struck another man with a metal rod pleaded no contest Monday.
According to court documents, James Paul Spencer, 44, struck a man with a rod causing a 2 inch by 1 inch wound to his head.
The battery causing substantial bodily harm charge is punishable up to 5 years in prison.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 28.
