Genoa, Nev. — A two-day hearing on a lawsuit seeking emails from four Douglas County School Board trustees begins this morning in Douglas County District Court. District Judge Tom Gregory is presiding over the hearing.
The R-C betting line is that with a new attorney representing the interests of the school district tagging in less than a week ago, there will be a motion to continue the hearing. I’m giving even odds that the judge agrees.
I expect today we’ll learn the identity of the pilot killed in Monday’s plane crash after a mid-air collision just east of Minden-Tahoe Airport. It was the second crash in less than a month.
Members of the Douglas County Board of Health are scheduled to hear a report on Senate Bill 118, which allows two or more counties to form a health district. The board meets virtually 1 p.m. today. Go to www.douglascountynv.gov and click agendas for more information.
Attendees at today’s Critical Issues Conference at the Tahoe Blue Event Center may see a little rain up at Lake Tahoe, but as of 6:30 a.m. at nvroads.com, there isn’t any snow visible on Kingsbury or Spooner.
Last night’s storm left barely a trace of rain, but that may change on Wednesday and Thursday with forecasters predicting up to an inch of rain in Minden. That would be the first real rain in the county seat since mid-May.
Today’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high of 69 degrees. It was already breezy this morning with the southeast wind 5-15 mph before it shifts west. Gusts will be up to 25 mph.
