Douglas High School alumna Mackenzie Willis was named the Northwoods League softball Pitcher of the Year in mid-August after delivering a 2.10 ERA in 118.2 innings of work.
In the circle, Willis struck out a league-best 129 opposing hitters and held an 11-5 record in 18 starts while also recording three saves.
Willis played for the La Crosse Steam, one of four softball teams in the Northwoods League playing in the upper Midwest.
2024 was the first year of the softball league and it was also the first for-profit women’s summer collegiate softball league.
Walt back on pitch with College of Idaho soccer
After winning a conference title in her freshman season, Carson High alumna Gracie Walt is underway in her sophomore season with the College of Idaho’s women’s soccer team.
Through four games the Coyotes have two wins and two draws while Walt has tallied a shot on goal from her defensive position.
Walt and the Yotes kickoff conference play this week.
Pulver posting for Whitman volleyball
Quinn Pulver has 23 kills through seven matches in her senior season with Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash.
Pulver, a Carson High alumna, has seven digs and a block for The Blues, which compete at the Division III level.
