Genoa, Nev. — A hearing on a lawsuit seeking records from school board trustees is expected to continue today. On Tuesday, former School District attorney Richard Hsu and Board President David Burns testified, R-C Staff Writer Sarah Drinkwine told me on Tuesday.


It’s National Register to Vote Day. I expect most folks who want to vote in Douglas are already registered, but it's not a bad idea to check registertovote.nv.gov to see what’s in the record.


Main Street Gardnerville Director Jen Tune’s efforts during the recent construction on Highway 395 were recognized by the Douglas County Business Council at Tuesday’s Critical Issues Conference at Stateline. Coffee on Main received a Spotlight Award from the county.


An excavator was digging up 10th Street at the entrance to The Record-Courier’s driveway on Tuesday for the sidewalk project. I don’t know what the plan is for today but anticipate some issues getting to the office.


The identity of the pilot killed in a mid-air crash on Monday has yet to be released. I expect the coroners were pretty busy investigating five deaths that I’m aware of over the course of 25 hours between Sunday and Monday.


There’s a possibility of showers and thunderstorms today starting around 11 a.m. today and continuing through the night with a chance of a quarter to half inch of rain. The high temperature today is forecast to be 67 degrees.
