A 14-year-old Douglas High School student was arrested Thursday after the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous threats report.
The report came in around 9:50 a.m., according to the county.
“(The) student … made verbal threats in class about coming to school and carrying out a shooting,” according to a statement issued on Thursday afternoon. “Deputies assigned to Douglas High School, along with school administration, contacted the student.”
As a result of the investigation, the student was arrested and booked into the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Facility for making terroristic threats,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
“This appears to be an isolated incident, and no other threats to DHS or any other Douglas County Schools have been identified,” officials said.
