Genoa, Nev. — One of the key issues for fighting fires in East Fork Township is getting wet stuff to the red stuff. East Fork Fire Protection District trustees will discuss spending $448,110 for a new water tender at their meeting today.

Also on the agenda is the fire district’s $11.4 million five-year capital improvement plan. Fire district trustees meet 1 p.m. at the district offices, 1694 County Road in Minden.

There are four people in Douglas custody this morning after being arrested in a business burglary at Carson Valley Plaza on Monday that resulted in a manhunt for two men who fled the stop. They all have Wednesday court dates in East Fork.

East Fork firefighters and Douglas deputies responded to a report of a fallen power line that started a fire on Esther Way near Wild Horse Lane around 1:50 p.m. Monday.

South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce Director Cristi Creegan speaks noon today at the Good Governance meeting at the COD Casino in Minden. Cost, $5 per person includes beverage. Information, 775-265-0267.

We might see some showers after 2 p.m. on this Tax Day, but anticipate partly sunny skies with a high temperature approaching 75 degrees, with the southwest wind around 5 mph.
