A woman, who used a stolen credit card, was sentenced to prison on Monday.

Mandi Rene Humphries, 46, was arrested May 20, 2023, after using a stolen credit card at several stores including, Big 5, Maverick, Tractor Supply, and Walmart.

She said she was on her way to a job in Colorado with her boyfriend, sister, and sister’s boyfriend and was given the credit cards to use for supplies, such as work boots, pants, and tools, Humphries said during sentencing.

The foursome made it as far Wyoming, before being picked up, according to Humphries.

Prosecutor Heidi Remick said the credit cards were taken from the COD Casino, and later used to purchase $6,000 worth of goods from different stores. Remick said the license plates on the U-Haul they were using had been changed, and a methamphetamine pipe was found in Humphries backpack.

“You’re not new to the court system and have given significant consideration to the facts and your judgment,” said Douglas County District Court Thomas Gregory during sentencing.

According to a presentence investigation, Humphries has prior felony convictions and misdemeanor offenses within the same nature as fraud and drug use.

Humphries was sentenced to 12-30 months in prison with 36 days of credit.
