Genoa, Nev. — The closing date for applying to be public administrator is March 4, but for folks in limbo that may not be soon enough. District Judge Tod Young said Tuesday that he may appoint an administrator to clean up the case of a Frenchwoman who was murdered in 2019 and whose elderly mother is seeking to settle the Lake Tahoe estate.

The ordinance eliminating the elected position of public administrator officially takes effect on Thursday. Commissioners voted to eliminate the office and replace it with a county employee.

You can check out the county’s job site at www.governmentjobs.com/careers/douglasconv if you’re interested in that or other available position.
