A convicted drug felon, who has been twice sent to prison in Douglas County, faces the possibility of habitual criminal charges in connection with a Saturday arrest in Carson City.
Miky Sears, 54, was pulled over on Saturday by Carson Street Enforcement Team detectives for speeding at Goni Road and College Parkway.
K-9 Officer Cash sniffed out an ounce of methamphetamine inside a carpet cleaning container with a false bottom.
After his arrest, detectives went to his hone and found another 5 ounces of the drug.
Carson authorities charged Sears with four counts of third-offense possession of a controlled substance, third offense possession with intent to sell, second offense trafficking and being a habitual criminal.
He is scheduled to appear in Carson City Justice Court on Wednesday.
According to the Nevada Department of Corrections, Sears was sentenced to prison from Douglas County District Court in October 2023 after he was caught with a third of a gram on Nov. 10, 2021, and violated his probation.
He was previously arrested Dec. 15, 2018, after a traffic stop that resulted in his conviction and imprisonment for 1-4 years for a charge of conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substances act.
