Genoa, Nev. — The last time we heard from the Douglas County Library Foundation was in 2018 when they received $5,000 from the county to support the library. It appears an effort is afoot to revive the foundation, which worked to raise funds for larger library projects. Douglas County Public Library trustees meet 10 a.m. today at the Minden Branch.

High winds knocked over a semi in Washoe Valley closing Interstate 580 for a bit on Monday afternoon where the maximum gust was 69 mph. It was only a little lighter here with a 51 mph gust on Highway 88 between Mottsville and Centerville.

Fredericksburg resident Jeff Garvin reported 38 mph gust 2:15 p.m. at his place. The wind gauge at Walley’s Hot Springs had a 40 mph gust at 12:10 p.m. Monday.
