Genoa, Nev. — Douglas County Manager Jenifer Davidson will address the state of the county 4-6 p.m. today at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center in Gardnerville. I’ll check if it’s going to be recorded or broadcast and post that here when I find out.

Douglas County School District trustees will discuss contracts for governance training at their first Thursday meeting 4 p.m. today at the Airport Training Center, 1126 Airport Road, Building G-1.

The VHR Advisory Board voted 3-2 to uphold the revocation of a vacation home rental on Maryanne Drive on Kingsbury. The key issue for the majority was that the owner advertised for 16 when he was only permitted for nine.

Carson Valley Plaza’s appeal of its property valuation was denied by the Board of Equalization on Wednesday. The owner sought a $10 million decrease in the value of the Topsy shopping center. In Nevada, property taxes are based on property value.

The chance of rain or snow is still in the forecast starting Saturday night. For today it’s likely we’ll see another spring-like day with a high near 66 degrees and the light morning breeze calming in the afternoon.
