Genoa, Nev. — Chain controls are in effect over Kingsbury and Spooner this morning after a cold front reversed the usual weather pattern from west to east on Monday. Heavenly Mountain Resort reported 4 inches of snow since 6:40 a.m. Monday.
The discussion over the future of the public administrator strayed into the Water Conveyance Advisory Board meeting on Muller Lane Parkway, so I’m tracking that down today. I did learn that a discussion on what’s happening with Drayton was delayed until February.
Commissioners voted to accept Public Administrator Steve Walsh’s resignation, which was a fairly foregone conclusion. They’re seeking an ordinance to abolish the office and the county’s executive team will be sorting out the office in the meantime.
An SUV collided with a school bus at around 2:30 p.m. Monday on Kimmerling Road just east of Highway 88. There were just a couple of kids still on the bus, who were safe. The driver of the SUV was treated. What was reported as a T-bone collision between two SUVs at Highway 395 and Muller Lane occurred around 4:45 p.m. No one opted for an ambulance ride there. The same is true of a collision in Sunridge around 6:20 p.m.
The Good Governance Group is kicking off Tax-uary noon today at the COD Casino in Minden with a discussion of federal, state and local taxes. Next week, Trent Tholen and Amy Burgans are talking about local taxes. Bring $5 for the room and beverages.
Gardnerville Town Board members are receiving its annual open meeting, ethics and planning training at the regular meeting 4:30 p.m. today in the town offices on Main Street.
The skies are pretty clear out this morning and are predicted to stay that way through the day with the high reaching 42 degrees with the wind 10-15 mph out of the northeast.
