Alpine County's Nani Ellis recognized for 30 years of service

Longtime Alpine County employee and lifelong resident Nani Ellis was recognized by supervisors with a resolution.

“A lifelong resident of Alpine County, Ellis’ deep roots and strong commitment to her community have made her an integral part of the County’s workforce and civic life,” supervisors said. “Born and raised in Alpine County, Nani attended Diamond Valley School and Douglas High. As a fourth-generation Alpine County resident, she and her husband, Todd, have instilled the same values of community service and pride in their two children, Lauren and Lila.”

Nani began her full-time career with Alpine County in 1995, starting in the finance office, where she spent 20 years. She later continued to serve in the Behavioral Health Department for seven years before transitioning to her current role at the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office in 2021.

“Throughout her career, Nani has demonstrated remarkable organizational skills, professionalism, and an unmatched dedication to excellence across all positions she has held,” supervisors said.

“Beyond her professional contributions, Nani has been an active volunteer, generously giving her time to numerous community organizations.”
Her involvement includes the Volunteer Fire Department, Alpine County Early Learning Center Parents Group, Alpine County First 5, the Alpine County School Board, and the Alpine County AB109 Board.

“Her volunteerism reflects her deep love for the community and unwavering commitment to making Alpine County a better place for all,” according to the resolution. “Nani’s positive spirit, warm smile, and witty sense of humor have left a lasting impression on her colleagues and community members alike. Her ability to foster a welcoming and inclusive workplace has not only enhanced productivity but also created a culture of camaraderie and mutual respect within Alpine County departments.”

The Board of Supervisors expressed their gratitude to Ellis for her service.
