The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Committee is meeting 6 p.m. at Carson Valley Cinemas in Minden to discuss the potential acquisition of the property. That meeting will presumably include some sort of indication of how much the owners are asking for the property.
There may be a move afoot to change when Douglas County School Board trustees meet to the third Tuesday or Thursday of the month, according to a proposed schedule on the agenda for today's meeting, 4 p.m. at the Airport Training Center.
A collision at Main Street and Gillman Avenue between a vehicle with a trailer and a Toyota sedan backed up traffic significantly around 3 p.m. Tuesday. Neither driver opted for an ambulance ride.
Firefighters have a line around 37 percent of the Eaton Fire in Los Angeles, which is up to 15 dead, 2,722 structures and 14,117 acres burned, according to CalFire at 5:53 a.m.. The Palisades Fire has eight dead, 1,280 structures and 23,713 acres burned with a line around 17 percent.
I received a couple of inquiries on Monday on whether anyone is collecting clothing and other items to send down to Los Angeles. I haven’t heard anyone doing that, but if you are, let me know and I’ll let folks know.
