The Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada announced the grand opening for the Smart Start program located inside the Wray Family Clubhouse at 990 Ironwood Drive in Minden.

The facility is the club’s fourth daycare and preschool site, designed to provide affordable early childhood education and care for children aged 9 months to 5 years.

The Wray Family Center Smart Start features three newly renovated classrooms and has the capacity to serve up to 41 children.

Since venturing into early childhood education in January 2024, the Club has since opened 230 daycare and preschool seats to address the growing need for affordable daycare and preschool options in the region.

This expansion is part of a broader initiative supported by funding from the American Rescue Plan Act granted to BGCWN by Gov. Joe Lombardo in 2024.

This project was also made possible by generous support of the NV Energy Foundation.

Renovations to the facility were completed by Miles Construction.

Since opening in 1993, the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada has expanded to six locations in Carson City and Minden, currently serving over 1,500 members. Visit www.bgcwn.org for more information.
