Not long after an all points bulletin to be on the lookout for a suspect in a fatal stabbing on Saturday, Mono County deputies and the California Highway Patrol spotted the suspect and gave chase.
The pursuit crossed into Nevada on Highway 338 where the vehicle was seen travelling at a high rate of speed northbound by Lyon County deputies.
A deputy chased the vehicle through Smith Valley toward Wellington and was able to implement a pursuit intervention technique, stopping the chase.
Inside was Nicholas Orion Powell, 24, of Incline Village who was wanted by Washoe County authorities on a warrant for homicide in the death of 59-year-old Susan Powell.
Powell was stabbed to death in her home off Sugarpine Drive.
Nicholas Powell is in Lyon County custody pending transfer to Washoe County.
