Genoa, Nev. — A project to extend sewer south into the Pine Nuts was awarded to Aspen Developers by the Pine View Estates Homeowners Association on Tuesday. The project is estimated at around $10 million and has been in the works for more than a decade.

The sewer line is one of a handful of federally funded projects in Douglas County. The question is whether any of them are paused as a result of recent decrees from the White House. Others include the repaving of Industrial Way and the Kahle Complete Streets project. I’ll be reaching out today but there may not as yet be an answer.

Mono County and the California State Fire Marshal are investigating the death of a 71-year-old Benton man discovered Wednesday morning in a house full of smoke in the remote town near Boundary Peak. Ronald Stanley Keller was identified as the deceased.

From the Channel 2 video footage it was pretty clear deputies were out training Wednesday at Minden-Tahoe Airport on the Grappler, which is used to stop eluders without having to dent a patrol vehicle in a pursuit intervention technique.

The odds of actual precipitation are rising as we get closer to Friday. Looking through the weather graph, we could see up to 3 inches of rain in Minden through the middle of next week. Of course, it might not pan out. It’s called a prediction for a reason.

For today, we’re looking at another gorgeous day with a high temperature of 53 degrees and a light breeze calming this afternoon before the clouds begin to arrive tonight.
