Law enforcement activity involved five immigration arrests on Friday morning as Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies assisted the Department of Homeland Security and the Drug Enforcement Agency.
Residents reported activity in Minden near Lucerne and in Gardnerville.
A DEA spokeswoman confirmed the arrests were in support of Homeland Security.
“The DEA and DOJ partners assisting DHS and other federal law enforcement partners with their immigration enforcement efforts,” she said. “This morning DEA agents participated in an operation in support of Homeland Security and five individuals were apprehended as a result.”
Douglas County Undersheriff Ron Elges said that the effort was entirely in support of the federal agencies.
Those arrested were transported to the Washoe County Jail in Parr Boulevard.
