A high wind watch takes effect 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday with wind-prone areas getting hit by 65 mph gusts. It might be a good idea to see what’s loose to keep it from blowing into the Pine Nuts.

If the forecast holds, that’s the end of the mild weather for a spell. Atmospheric river levels of precipitation are due in later this morning, with gusty winds and periods of near continuous rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.

There isn’t much in the forecast for powder hounds until next week, as the snow levels will be up around 7,900 feet today through Saturday night. The real rain won’t start until Saturday morning, according to the forecast.

The rain is forecast to arrive after 10 a.m. with the snow level climbing into the upper elevations this afternoon. It might drizzle a bit today, with mostly cloudy skies and a high temperature of 53 degrees. The wind out of the southwest at 5-15 mph with a few 20 mph gusts this afternoon.
