Alpine County’s Turtle Rock Park was severely damaged when the Tamarack Fire swept through it in July 2021.
As part of the recovery work, Alpine County is hosting a community workshop as part of a master planning process 5:30 p.m. March 26 at the Turtle Rock Park Community Center.
“Turtle Rock Park is a cherished recreational and natural resource for Alpine County residents and visitors,” said Economic Development Director J.T. Chevallier. “As part of the county’s commitment to enhancing the park’s facilities and recreational opportunities, this master planning process will help shape the future of the park based on community input.”
The workshop will provide an opportunity for residents, stakeholders, and outdoor enthusiasts to share their ideas, priorities, and concerns regarding the park’s future development. Topics of discussion may include trail enhancements, campground improvements, recreational programming, environmental conservation, and overall park accessibility.
“We encourage all members of the community to participate in this workshop,” said Chevallier. “Your input is essential in ensuring that Turtle Rock Park continues to serve as a valued space for recreation, relaxation, and connection with nature.”
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with planners, provide feedback on potential improvements, and contribute to a long-term vision for the park.
“The county values community engagement and believes that public input is crucial in guiding the decision-making process,” Chevallier said.
