A 28-year-old man faces a total of 13 years in prison for possession of multiple controlled substances and failure to appear to court.
Anthony Gabriel Munoz was arrested with co-defendant Kaela Horse-Berreman on Sept. 30, 2023, after Horse-Berreman was seen stumbling into her vehicle and was pulled over for driving under the influence and failure to maintain her lane.
Munoz was a passenger in the vehicle and multiple drugs were found near his seat.
He is being charged for 21 grams of fentanyl and 13 grams of methamphetamine. Munoz also failed to appear on Oct. 11, 2023, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Monday, he was denied release on his own recognizance and was ordered to remain in custody until sentencing on April 28.
Horse-Berreman is undergoing treatment through veterans court and appeared in District Court for a status hearing on Feb. 11.
She said she is scheduled to graduate in August and will return for another review on Sept. 9.

Luis Guillermo Vazquez, 27, admitted to detaining his ex-girlfriend in her bedroom and destroying some of her clothing.
According to court documents Vazquez entered his ex-girlfriend’s home through her garage, an argument escalated, and Vazquez blocked the victim from leaving her bedroom.
The victim was able to escape by telling Vazquez she needed help letting her dogs out of their crate. The victim later told law enforcement that that she noticed several items missing after Vazquez left and she had three trash bags full of clothing that Vazquez had damaged by cutting or slashing with a knife.
Sentencing is set for April 15.
