Douglas County Social Services is hosting a public health event April 5 to connect residents and community agencies.
“Elevate: Your Health. Your Future. Our Community.” takes place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center, located at 1329 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our residents to meet several of our community agency partners that work with the county on behalf of our residents,” said Social Services Administrative Services Manager Sarah Johnson. “The organizations participating are dedicated to improving access to healthcare, mental health services, and wellness programs. Plus, we have a lot of fun activities planned in addition to the opportunities to learn more about what it takes to focus on living a healthier lifestyle.”
The event will showcase the many local businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations that work to provide healthy minds and bodies in Douglas County. In addition to representatives from local organizations, there will be free activities and lunch, and raffle prizes for attendees.
The event is hosted by Douglas County Social Services and funded by Senate Bill 118.
