Dennis Paul Browns Sr was born on February 24, 1948 in Fresno, CA and passed away on August 18, 2021 in Carson City, NV with his family present. He graduated from Bullard High School in Fresno, CA. Following graduation, he went into the US Air Force from 1967-1971
as a E4 Sgt and received an Honorable Discharge. He served during the Vietnam War.
When Dennis returned home, he used his mechanics knowledge and opened up a used car dealership from 1971 to 1999. In 1977, he purchased a 20-acre citrus orchard. He retired from both businesses in 1999.
He met Marilyn Brown in 1972 in Fresno, CA and they were together for nearly 50 years. They were married in South Lake Tahoe, CA in 1979 and recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in Carson City, NV with their immediate family.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife Marilyn; his daughter Julie (Dan) Romero of Carson City, NV and son Dennis (DJ) Browns Jr of Carson City, NV. He was preceded in death by his loving paternal grandmother Hilda Browns whom he was very close with. He was also a fan of the San Francisco 49’ers and looked forward to their games with DJ and Dan. We know he will be watching.
Dennis’ family would like to thank his doctor’s and their staff with the VA system, who provided exceptional care. Dr. Colleen Lyons, Dr. Sophia Kim and Roslyn Avent RN in Nevada; Dr. Carlos Corvera and Isagani Capina NPC at the San Francisco VA Hospital. Also, to Circle of Life Hospice and Accellence Medical Supply.
He will have a veteran’s graveside funeral at Lone Mountain Cemetery on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 12:00 pm. A celebration of life will follow after the graveside
service at Tito’s Restaurant in Carson City, NV.
