Gerardina F. “Diny” Gout, age 101, died peacefully on March 22, 2021 in Gardnerville, NV. She was born onAugust 7, 1919, in The Hague, Netherlands and was the daughter of the late Cornelia and Willem Breurkes. At age 22, Diny joined the Dutch underground resistance
during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. She delivered information and resources to soldiers by bike and, on one fated trip, met her soon-tobe husband, Bob. Diny and Bob immigrated to the United States with their two sons in 1960. By 1973, she was a proud American citizen. The family settled in Albany, New York, where Diny strengthened her golf game, enjoyed traditional Dutch Horlepiep dancing, and supported both sons through college. At age 99, with adventure ever before her, she left Albany for the mountains of Nevada. She was a clever wit in pearl earrings. She was that warm, homemade dinner that reminds you: you are loved.
Diny is survived by her son Bart, daughter-in-laws Ellen
and Monica, and grandchildren Austin, Kate, and Elise.
