Jim lost his battle with Leukemia at age 76 on October 23, 2021.
He worked as a director of Environmental Health for Inyo County, for the Dept. of Health and Welfare for the State of Idaho, in Siskiyou County, Modoc County and California Dept. of Health Services in Alpine and Mono Counties. Even after retirement he worked for companies to provide food audits in selected restaurants, retail food stores and organic wholesale producers.
Jim was a big fan of college baseball and basketball. He would have loved to see his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves, win the World Series.
Jim is survived by his wife Jeanne, daughters Jennifer Tackitt and Jamie Stores, grandchildren Hayden, Joby, Chance and Emarie, half-sisters Kathleen Goodloe and Sarah Fletcher, cousins Brad Booth and Barbara Metrulas, nephews Alex Eberhardt and Ryan Banham, and stepbrother Spencer Burt.
A special thank you to his longtime friend and caregiver Elisabeth, Dr. Chang and Dr. Phillips, the nurses at the CVMC Infusion Center, Kindred Hospice nurses and CNAs, who took excellent care of Jim.
Always a lively and funny character with a great smile, irreplaceable, he was well known and well liked throughout his lifetime. He will be sorely missed; however we are grateful that he is now at peace.
