Linda passed unexpectantly at her Minden home. Linda was a loving and caring individual who will be dearly missed by both family and friends; particularly, her adoring husband
and dogs.
Linda was born in Reno, Nevada to Joseph and Carolyn DuPlantis, as the first of five children. She graduated from Reno High in 1978 and the University of Nevada Reno in May 1983, with a Bachelor Degree in Education.
On December 17, 1983, Linda married her husband Paul, whom she met while working at Sierra Pacific Power Company. In 1986, the couple moved from Reno to the Carson Valley, where later Linda retired from the state of Nevada, with her last position in Parole & Probation fiscal department.
Linda loved animals particularly cats and dogs. It was not uncommon for her to have a couple of each at one time. Linda also volunteered at a local cat rescue organization. In addition to being a voracious reader, she loved doing arts and crafts and kayaking, and was particularly fond of spending time at the family’s Tahoe cabin. Linda valued education and in 2000, joining her mother, became a member of P.E.O. Chapter Q.
Linda is survived by her husband of 38 years Paul and: four siblings: Duane G. “Garth” DuPlantis, Jeanne M. DuPlantis, Cindy R. Laudenslager, and Deborah J. Franks, nephews Steffen Laudenslager and Curtis Laudenslager, nieces Danielle Burgess and Genevieve Burgess, and several cousins.
