Christopher David Pedrett

March 3, 1954 - February 7,2022

Christopher David Pedrett of Minden passed away after a short battle with cancer on February 7, 2022 in Reno, Nevada at age 67.

He was born on March 3, 1954, on the Fort Sill Military Base in Oklahoma to Larry and Joan Pedrett. After the family moved to Nevada, he attended schools in Carson City and Carson Valley. He graduated from Douglas County High School in 1972, where he was a star basketball forward and a member of the 1972 State AA Championship team. He was named a High School All American. Upon graduation, he attended Taft College in Taft, California on a basketball scholarship and California State University, Chico. In 1990, he was inducted into Douglas County High School’s Third Annual Hall of Fame.

Chris married Robbin White, who he met in high school, on November 23, 1983, in Genoa. Their first son, Russell, was born on October 24, 1984. They welcomed their second son, Charles, on August 22, 1987. During their 38 years together, Chris and Robbin raised their boys in Carson Valley and became well known for raising show pigs, which began as a 4-H project and grew into their passion and business, RNV Genetics. They also raised champion sheep on their property in Minden along with various other farm animals
and pets.

In addition to raising livestock, Chris also drove long haul trucks early in his career, worked at Harrah’s, Lake Tahoe in gaming surveillance for 15 years and at the Starbucks Coffee Warehouse in Minden from which he recently retired after 14 years of employment as a distribution partner.

Chris is survived by his parents, Larry and Joan Pedrett, his wife, Robbin, his two sons, Russell (Amanda) and Charles, and two granddaughters, Sadie and Henley.

Chris will be missed dearly. He loved his family and roaming the Nevada desert in his side-by-side. He was an avid San Francisco Giants fan and loved baseball. He will live on in the hearts of those who loved him forever.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville, Nevada, on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
