Louise Dorothy Lema Dresselhaus passed away at age 96 on January 30, 2022, in Carson City, Nevada. She was born May 1, 1925, in Sacramento, California to parents Manuel Gomes Lema and Adelina Marie Silva.
She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Manual Albert, Fred John, Henry Raymond, and Louie Joseph, she was the youngest of five. Her best friend, Baby the dog passed in 2018. Tragically, she lost her beloved son, Larry Donald Moody in an industrial accident in 1966.
Louise and Charles (Chuck) Hamilton Dresselhaus were married in the mid 60’s. They lived in Dublin and Placerville, California before retiring to Dayton where Chuck passed away on January 11, 2007. Louise served as Site Manager for the Dayton Senior Center for over 14 years. Once elected King and Queen, they loved being members of the Good Sam RV Club. She was an avid Giants baseball fan. Louise loved the song: “I left my heart in San Francisco,” red roses, Mexican Train (the game) and red lipstick.
Louise is survived by her daughter Leia Louise Riley of Sacramento and her only grandchild Chad Lawrence Riley, an Eagle Scout, also of Sacramento, many nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces, and nephews, as well as numerous close friends and neighbors in
Dayton, and her dog Minnie. She has left a little piece of herself with each of us, we will miss her forever.
Memorial Gatherings: February 26th , 10:30 AM, Calvary Baptist Church, Dayton, Nevada, followed by gravesite service at Dayton Cemetery. March 4th , 11:00 AM San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery at Harding/ Cemetery Lane, Stockton, California (Tented area).
