Robert Sigman Delaski joined our lord in heaven on February 3, 2022, where he will spend his eternal life alongside his parents, Sigman Stanley Delaski and Mae Marion (Bourgo) Delaski and his loving wife of 46 years, Virginia” Ginney” (Elder) Delaski. Others who have preceded him in death are his sister Cleo Ann (Delaski) Halvorsen and nephew Theodore Halvorsen.
Robert passed away peacefully at his home in Mesa, Arizona. He was 87 years old, born on April 8th, 1934, in Ashland, Wisconsin. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth & Marlene Delaski, Donald & Carol Delaski, and his loving children & their spouses; Linda & Gary Omey, George Christy, Carol & Herman Hagen, Cyndi & Wayne Grapes, James & Patty Christy, 15 Grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one great grandchild. Robert had two sons, Daniel and Robert from a previous marriage.
There were many pleasures Robert enjoyed such as visiting his family, flying airplanes, traveling, reading, baseball and was a lifelong Packers fan. But none of these trumped his love for our country. He entered the military by first serving in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1950 – 1952 when he became old enough to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. Robert was a radio operator for the USMC from 1952 – 1955 during the Korean war. He earned five metals during his service and was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal.
Robert will be laid to rest with military honors in the state of Nevada where he and his loving wife, Virginia “Ginney” spent their life together.
