Irma A. Meccico McAteer Clark passed away quietly at home with her family this past week.
Irma was born in 1938 and grew up in Pocatello, Idaho. The youngest of three children, she graduated from Pocatello High School in 1957 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University in Physical Education.
She moved to Gardnerville, Nevada in 1975 with her four children and worked at Harrah’s Casino as a 21 dealer for almost 3 decades. Irma was active with the Carson Valley Women’s Golf Club for almost 30 years and was a proficient artist who loved her craft shows and to attend new and different types of art and art medium classes.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Norma in November 2021 and her brother Bill in 2004. She is survived by her four children, Charley McAteer, Kristi McAteer, Lisa McAteer and Tracy McAteer; two grandchildren, Candice LeClaire and Stephanie Beata; and one great-grandson, Chase; as well as several nieces and nephews that meant the world to her and her friends here in the Carson Valley.
