John Lee Easby passed away on June 14th, 2022, surrounded by his family. John was born November 2, 1956 in Merced, California to Jack and Mary Ellen Easby. He graduated from CSU Fresno with a degree in Industrial Technology where he started dating the love of
his life, Diana. They were married in 1983 and together they had two children, Blake and Lauren. John and Diana moved to Carson City, Nevada in 1988 where they built their dream home.
John loved the outdoors and loved sharing that time with friends and family. On any given weekend he could be found hiking, camping, skiing, biking, riding motorcycles, or exploring a new 4x4 backroad. He always had the next adventure in mind and his list of trips was continuously growing. For John, the destination wasn’t as important as the journey. After retirement, John and Diana spent countless days traveling in their Sportsmobile campervan
“Mobi”. John excelled in retirement and was an inspiration and envy for many.
Throughout his life, John had a positive attitude and never spoke ill of anyone. His optimistic demeanor attracted many, resulting in innumerable friendships — many spanning decades. He spoke loudly by his actions (not always his words) and lived in accordance with his beliefs
that the earth should be taken care of, people should help out one another, and life is one grand adventure.
John is survived by his wife of 39 years Diana Easby, children Blake (Molly) Easby and Lauren (Cody) Haener, grandchildren Eloise & Finn Easby and Everett Haener, and sister Jennifer (Fred) Palmer.
A celebration of life will be held at the Easby’s residence. Please contact the family for more
information. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to UCSF Brain Tumor research. John
actively donated to UCSF where he received treatment and wished to see medical research
advance to help treat those who come after him.
A UCSF donation fundraiser has been set up in John’s memory:
