Alan was born the son of Norman and Dolores Mortimer at Frieda Pitts Maternity Home on Aug 11, 1948.
He had a love for his country, the Carson Valley and Battle Born Pride running through his veins for the great state of Nevada. His greatest passions were hunting, fishing, camping, ATV riding and spending time at his property in Pioche.
Alan still enjoyed a good drive around our beautiful valley with wife Shannon and their dog Colt. He absolutely loved spending time with family and friends. He would have his annual Grandpa fishing day when all four grandsons got to ditch school to have a day with Grandpa.
He and his wife opened Morts Auto Body and Towing in 1980 and retired in 2003. Through their years of operation, they met many friends that became family. Prior to that he worked on cars at his dad’s gas station then became a carpenter for several years.
Alan was the kind of man that wouldn’t just give you the shirt off his back, but would give
you his pants and shoes too if you needed it.
He is preceded in death by his parents Norman and Dolores Mortimer, his sisters Joanne and Ginny and his beloved wife Kathy.
He is survived by his wife Shannon Daley-Mortimier, daughter Kelle Cavaricci, Carrie Nolting, and Cristy Menzer, son Brian Mortimer, sister Jane Mortimer and brother Gary (Maureen) Mortimer, Sister-in-law Jeanette (Paul) Blackburn, grandsons Michael (Amanda) Nolting, Mitchell Menzer, Ben Nolting and Anthony Menzer and his loving dog Colt.
A Graveside Memorial service will be held November 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Mottsville
