W. Carolina Loncar passed away peacefully Wednesday August 16, 2023, in Gardnerville, NV.
Carolina was born in Santa Cruz, CA on March 28, 1932, to William Francis and Ethel Southam Morton.
Carolina was a long-time resident of Tonopah and recent resident of Gardnerville. She was
affectionately known for living her life as a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and being a generous and caring woman.
She was well known in Tonopah as the maker of the best sourdough pancakes, homemade rolls, and bread, as well as for her awesome popcorn balls which she and her husband, Bob, passed out for Halloween for almost 50 years. She was also the best mom and “grandma-great” ever.
She is preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, her husband Bob and son Jim.
She is survived by her children Robert (Carla) Loncar of West Wendover, Sophiea (William) Blankenship of Gardnerville, daughter-in-law Chris Loncar of Tonopah, 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at the Goldfield Cemetery in Goldfield, NV on September 2, 2023, at 10:00 am. Luncheon will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 901 Smoky Valley Rd. Tonopah, NV at 11:30 am.
A Memorial Service will be held in Gardnerville, NV at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1095 Spruce St. Minden, NV September 2, 2023, at 5:00 pm.
