Betty Johnson Snyder, age 97, peacefully passed away on February 4, 2023.
Betty was born Elizabeth Goldbach, in Manhattan, Nv March 03, 1925 to Harry and Hazel Goldbach. Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Chas Goldbach, and sister Ruby Guisti of Fallon, and her two husbands Roy Johnson and Thomas Snyder.
After graduating at 16, valedictorian of her class of 3 from Manhattan, Nv she went to Business College and graduated as an accountant. She lived in many small mining towns in Nevada and finally settled in Yerington where she and her husband Roy raised a family. She
worked for Grulli Motors in Yerington while raising her children and later for Flammer Chevrolet in Carson City. She was profiled as a notable Nevadan in Nevada Magazine in 2018.
She is survived by her son Gary (Melanie) of Kaneohe, HI, Bonnie Johnson of Gardnerville, and Donna Johnson of Minden, two stepchildren Scott Snyder and Ann Peckham as well four grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Betty lived a long life working hard, playing hard, and had a wonderful contagious laugh that made everyone around her smile. She also loved playing golf with friends and family.
Per Betty’s request she held her own Celebration of Life on her 90th birthday with a few Picons, good food and lots of stories surrounded by many friends and family. No further service will be held.
