Roberta “Berta” Lee peters

June 23, 1939 - July 2,2023

Roberta Lee Peters (Berta), 84, of Minden, Nevada, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 2, 2023.

Berta was born in Lone Pine, California on June 23, 1939. Growing up summers were spent with her family helping with the Mt. Whitney pack trains and winters in Death Valley with the mule teams. In 1956 she was crowned the Lone Pine Stampede Queen! She graduated from
Lone Pine High School and married her high school sweetheart, Richard Peters (Dick) on January 25, 1957. They were married for 60 years and had 7 children.

Berta and Dick moved to the Carson Valley in 1972. She spent many years working for Bentley and GE. Her kindness and sense of humor was appreciated by all she worked with.

Berta loved the San Francisco Giants, National Hot Rod Association, rodeo at all levels, team roping and Professional Bull Riding, but above all she loved her family and time spent together. From watching Little League baseball games at Lampe Park and attending MLB games with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, to spending time floating the American River in Coloma with family or watching NHRA races from the stands in Sonoma, Las Vegas and Pomona, family was a cornerstone. Berta also loved to bake, knit, and crochet. You were blessed to have tasted her Christmas cookies and Thanksgiving pies, or been
given potholders, Afghans, or Christmas Angels.

Berta was preceded in death by her husband, Dick and her daughter, Debbie Jacobsen.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Cheryl) Peters,Jr., Kathy (Andy) Pinochi, Danny (Deanne) Peters, Jeff (Kelly) Peters, Chris (Lori) Peters, and Patrick (Leslie) Peters, her brother, Richard Morgan, along with 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Berta will be truly missed, but her spirit will live on through her family who will keep her memory and favorite traditions alive for years to come!

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 5:00 at Minden Park in Minden, Nevada.
