Kerry Earl Kilgore, 68, of Carson City, NV passed away May 15, 2023. He was born on February 11, 1955, in Pomona, CA to parents, Earl “Bud” Kilgore and Sandy Kilgore-Castor. Kerry graduated from Pomona High School in 1973 and moved to Carson City, NV in 1975.
Kerry was a professional “wallpaper hanger” by trade for more than 37 years here in the Carson City/Reno area. He papered many homes, local businesses, hotels, and the Governors Mansion. He took special pride in his work and worked until his knees couldn’t take it anymore.
After Kerry retired, he became an avid shed hunter, fishing Lake Tahoe, photographer, feeding the birds or watching NASCAR racing on the television. However, his greatest passion became helping people. He was always ready to help his family, friends and neighbors with projects, or move items, pull weeds, take out your trash can and fix things. You could always find him with his transistor radio in his pocket listening to talk radio.
Kerry’s smile was big and bright; he was best known for his quick-witted humor and always had some great story to tell. He enjoyed making people laugh and he never met a stranger. People gravitated to Kerry and became fast friends.
Kerry is predeceased by his father Earl “Bud” Kilgore. He is survived by his mother, Sandy Castor and bonus dad; Jim Castor, sisters; Pam Perondi and Jamie Holmes and numerous nieces and nephews. He was loved by his family and many friends; we will miss him dearly.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, July 8th, 2023, at the Elks Lodge 515 N Nevada St. Carson City, NV at 12:00 p.m.
