Nancy Sheryl Welch born Nancy Keegan on August 24, 1947, in Pensacola, FL. Nancy passed away June 5, 2023, in her Dayton, Nevada home after a valiant battle with cancer. Her husband Steven Welch and her daughter Andrea Colston of Billings, MT were at her side. Nancy was the daughter of John and Majorie Keegan, John a Naval Aviator, and his wife and family lived in various locations around the United States eventually ending up in Harrah, Oklahoma where he was a flight instructor at Tinker Air Force Base. Nancy was a graduate of Harrah High School. She loved animals, especially horses and participated in the local rodeo during her high school years. While in Oklahoma, Nancy was employed by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau, and several oil and gas companies finishing her career with Delta Dental of Oklahoma.
Nancy’s love transformed the lives of many she encountered. She brought a bounty of beauty to all she did and had a remarkable ability to connect with people. Whether she was baking a chocolate pie, or decorating a house, just seeing her smile evoked a spirit of love in each person she knew. Nancy loved to travel and visited many historic Native American sites and National Parks around the country with her husband and sister Linda Keegan. Nancy was an avid collector of Native American jewelry, and art. She also was an expert making jewelry from geological gemstones and was a collector of antique and unique pitchers of various sizes and shapes. She is survived by her Husband Steve, a daughter Andrea Colston, Son-in-Law Robert Colston, and four grandchildren, Connor, Robbie, Rayne, and Keegan.
A celebration of her life will take place at a place at the location where she loved to camp and ride horses, Kennedy Meadows, Senora Pass, California, at a time to be announced later this year.
