Kevin Ross Laxalt, born on February 11, 1985, died unexpectedly in Reno on April 28, 2023, at the age of 38. Kevin was the beloved son of John Paul Laxalt and Cindy Glauner Laxalt, and the beloved brother of his sister Jackie Marlette Laxalt and his twin brother David Ross Laxalt.
He was also loved by the many members of the extended Laxalt and Glauner families, including his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kevin graduated from Dayton High School, received an A.A. degree from Truckee Meadows Community College, and earned his B.A. from UNR in Criminal Justice.
Kevin had a love and prowess for music, writing and singing his own songs. He played acoustic and electric guitar (6- and 12- string), as well as ukulele, mandolin, cello, and harmonica, and he adored playing the piano as well. But his most prized time, from early childhood until his recent passing, was spent at his great-grandfather Dominique’s sheep camp high in the Sierras, often with his grandfather, U.S. Senator Paul Laxalt and other family members. He also cherished his time with his grandmother Jackalyn Ross Laxalt. Kevin will be remembered as one of the gentlest souls most people have ever known. He was humble and loving, with an impish, amazing sense of humor. His presence and laughter spread light and joy.
A Private Service for Kevin will be held.
Kevin’s remains will be taken to his mother Cindy’s land in Idaho, which, like the land in the Sierra Nevada’s, he held close to his heart. Kevin’s time on earth was a blessing to all who knew him.
