Ken Fields, 82, of Dayton, NV passed away October 29, 2023, after battling a long illness. Ken was the youngest of 11 children, born on August 17, 1941, in Oroville, CA to Jess and Maude (York) Fields.
After being raised in Big Pine, CA, Ken graduated from Big Pine High School and moved to Carson City in 1959 where he worked as a carpenter. In 1972, he became a superintendent for George Sayre Construction in Incline Village, overseeing the construction and remodeling of homes, condos, and hotels. He obtained a contractor’s license in 1976 and founded his own company, Fields Building Construction, which he ran until his retirement in 2008. Within his company, Ken built custom homes, small casinos, commercial buildings, and housing tracks all around Northern Nevada.
Ken married Loretta (Lori) Pieretti of Carson City in 1962 and had two sons. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, even traveling to Alaska to fish—but his favorite place to fish was always Lake Tahoe. Ken is survived by his two sons, Jess and Rick, his sister, Sharon, Lori, his four grandkids, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Glen Eagles in North Carson City on Saturday, November 18 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
