Donna West, 83 of Carson City, NV valiantly fought and decided to let go on Thursday, October 5, 2023, surrounded by her family, lovingly at her side.
Donna was born in Long Beach, CA graduating from Poly High School in 1958.
Donna’s journey shared her contagious, fun-loving spirit with the communities of San Pedro, CA; Incline Village, NV; and Carson City, NV. She owned the Ballard Inn and later grabbed the wheel of a school bus (Incline Village Unified and Reno Unified School Districts) delivering students happy and SAFE transportation. Donna dedicated over 20 years in service as the driver and activity coordinator to the Carson Plaza Retirement Community.
She (and Vance) knew no end to the joy of bean bag baseball, poker, cribbage, lotto runs and mystery trips to mention a few. Donna was so dedicated and tirelessly loved her seniors. Adventures abound in a life with Donna: Camping across the US, playing arts and crafts with her children, grand and great grandchildren and always brightening up the world with her “Elton John” glasses.
Most important to Donna was her family including her pets.
As a sister, wife, mom, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother she absolutely loved her family, and her family loved her.
Donna was predeceased by Felton Vance West (husband), Carol Stricklin (sister) survived by Ron Stricklin. Donna is survived by daughter Jonda Cvek (Tom – Donna’s favorite), son Bill Soukup Jr., niece Robin Stricklin Chan, her grand niece and nephew, Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
