Jack was born in Hayward, California, and after a life well lived, died peacefully at his home in Mt. Vernon, WA, after a battle with cancer, with his devoted partner, Kathi, and daughter, Kate, by his side.
Jack is survived by his partner, Kathi Kennedy, of 25 years and his daughter Jamie Kate Heller and her two children. Jack is also survived by his mother Janet MacNelly Heller and siblings: Tamie Jesse (Rett,) Dean Heller (Lynne,) Mac Heller (Lori,) Sara Durocher, Bryan Heller (Kristi), and lots and lots of nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. (Jack) Heller (2019).
While being raised in Carson City, Nevada, Jack developed many talents and interests including skiing, cooking, writing, art, and music. He also had a passion for hang-gliding and eventually even became an open-air glider instructor. Jack had additional skills with engines as he worked with his father at Heller’s Carson Transmission & Engine Service. Jack excelled at computer languages and could read and write them. He co-created the software, Auto-CAD and went on to develop other computing formats.
Most of Jack’s adult life was lived in northern California, then later in northwest Washington state to be near his daughter.
