Gregory Eugene McQueary, 66, of Carson City NV, passed away, surrounded by family and loved ones, on January 15, 2024, in Russell Springs, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held April 27th, 2024, 10 am, at the McQueary Cemetery, 91 McQueary Rd. Somerset, KY.
Greg was born in Logan, Utah to Marvin McQueary and Karen Kofoed McQueary on September 7th, 1957. Greg attended Hug High School in Reno, NV. Greg met the love of his life Mary Buzick-McQueary in Carson City, NV. Greg and Mary were married at the Royal Chapel in Carson City, September 4th, 1982, they raised 6 Children together. Greg was part owner and helped manage the family business Marv McQueary Excavating, Inc. from 1979 to 2012. More recently, he was employed as a Project Manager and Estimator for ARMAC Construction, LLC. from 2012 – 2024. He was well known within the community as a loving husband and father, a great boss, an outstanding estimator, and an exceptional heavy equipment operator. Greg instilled his work ethic to his Children and Grandchildren. Throughout his career he made many friends and touched the lives of innumerable people. Greg loved working in his yard, playing guitar, and above all spending time with his Grandchildren. Greg will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Buzick McQueary, Russell Springs, Kentucky; his mother Karen Kofoed-McQueary; his sister Deborah “Deb” McQueary-Starks; his sister Kimberly “Kim” McQueary-Vargas; his brother Robert “Rob” McQueary; his Children, Jessie McQueary-Gibson, Michelle McQueary-Hiser, Jadon McQueary, Jennifer McQueary-Zeron, Ryan McQueary, Erik McQueary; and his 25 beautiful Grandchildren.
Greg is preceded in death by his father Marvin “Marv” McQueary, and his brother John McQueary.
