Dean Francis Sharp, 92, formally of Gardnerville, Nevada passed away in La Mesa, California November 25, 2023.
Dean was a staple at Saint Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville. He performed various volunteer duties including with his late wife Louise helping run the Saint Gall rummage sale every summer. Dean was an avid fisherman, hiker and umpire for both softball and baseball. Dean made everyone smile with his cheerful personality and friendly nature. His true passion was his grandchildren. Dean was able to visit with his great grandson Austin Cooper Dewlaney just days before his passing.
Dean joined the Navy in 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict, being discharged in 1955.
He was then hired by General Dynamics Convair Division in San Diego where he retired in 1987 as a Missile Checkout group lead.
Dean was proceeded in death by his wife Louise Sharp, his daughter Lynn Sharp, and his son Paul Sharp.
He is survived by his sons Cliff Sharp of El Cajon, California (wife Kelly Sharp) and John Sharp of Del Mar, California (wife Bobbie Sharp), granddaughters Mallory Shields of Oldtown, Idaho, Coree Dewlaney of Indio, California and grandsons Tyler Sharp of San Diego, California, Nick Sharp of San Diego, California and great grandson Austin Cooper Dewlaney of Indio, California.
Services are scheduled for January 16, 2024, at Saint Gall Catholic Church 1343 Centerville Lane Gardnerville, Nevada 89410 reception to follow at the church hall.
